Great things can be achieved when communities work together to strive for the happiness, health and wellbeing of people throughout the world. By bringing together our Blue Illusion team and our amazing customers, we have made a huge difference to the lives of many people both in Australia and overseas. World Vision is close to the hearts of everyone working at Blue Illusion and was the first charity supported by the company over 17 years ago. Today every Blue Illusion boutique has its own sponsored child and to date we have raised over $1million for this incredible organisation.
Our CEO, Donna Guest, began Blue Illusion’s World Vision journey through her family’s sponsorship of a single child - Tamrat from Ethiopia. Now the company sponsors 119 children and assisted with Overseas Development and Relief Projects in 2016, Emergency Relief Appeals in 2017 and Myanmar Livelihoods projects 2018.
Every year sees a new challenge for World Vision and with the recent Cyclone Idai and Cyclone Kenneth causing devastation across Mozambique, Blue Illusion will be donating 7% of the proceeds from our Mother’s Day Styling Workshops to World Vision’s efforts to provide aid to the huge number of communities affected by the cyclone.
We invite you to join us in store to celebrate Mother’s Day with the release of our newest collection, ‘La Vie En Rose’. At our Mother’s Day workshop this year, held on Thursday May 9, in all of our boutiques from 12:30pm and selected boutiques at 5:30pm. You can enjoy a glass of bubbles and refreshments whilst our stylists explore this season’s new arrivals. Plus enter the door prize to win one of our famous scarves, valued up to $120, and personal styling session for you and a friend.
It’s amazing to consider the impact our donations can make to those affected by the recent Cyclones in Mozambique. Just $238 will provide a family of five with food for an entire month and $1,739 will establish and equip a temporary learning space for 100 children. Supporting World Vision is such a positive way you can directly influence the lives of others in need and we’re looking forward to bringing like-minded people together to support this cause.
